We took a train ride to the Hohenzollern Castle one Saturday and loved it so much! It was immensely beautiful! The views were truly breathtaking. Fiona had a blow out on the shuttle ride up so we had to dress her in semi-warm clothes that we had brought. The bathroom attendant was so helpful to us and gave us bags for the dirty clothes and wipies. We put some extra coins in the box for her. Some bathrooms (or WC) have boxes to contribute money for the upkeep of the facilities. I found out later that Chris also said he put some extra coins in because he took 2 rolls of toilet paper!! Haahaa! I was laughing so hard when he pulled them out of his backpack. You see, we were out at our house and it was Saturday and we wouldn't be able to buy any later at night because stores close around 7 or 8. We do what we must while traveling :)The train ride back was supposed to be easy, one train and we'd be home-no transfers. Well, the first train was delayed and a lady who spoke Portuguese, English and German told us. So we all got on the late train. Then that train was ending at another city so we had to rush to grab the next train. The lady told us again to hurry and get off! Sidenote: I lost Fiona's binky on this train. Then we got on the next one and it was the last one but it was so slow for some reason! So we got home around 9:30 so tired and hungry! We said goodbye to our lady who saved us a lot of confusion and grabbed food at the train station and then went home. Whew!

Naomi entertains herself playing the "flute"with her pen. She ended a song and said, "Thank you all for coming..." What a crack up!
Naomi's attempt at a pic of us! People were loving it!
We decided we wouldn't mind living in this castle :) Naomi wanted to see the Princess of this castle so badly! But no one lives in it now and I don't think a real Princess ever did live in it. It is mainly a tribute to the Hohenzollern family. Their family history is kept there and all important letters and artifacts and paintings. What a great idea to have it all in one secure place, atop a beautiful hill! Parts of the family own it now and they use the church for weddings and baptisms.
